Hello! I don't think you gave your name, but is it Yukki?
My name is Whitney, and I'm a student of Gettysburg College. Nice to meet you!
I have never seen game parlors in America like there are in Japan. There are crane machines in restaurants for children, and there are arcades in amusement parks too. Games like this usually attract younger children, but I sometimes see older kids play in arcades too...
In those "UFO catcher" kind of games, little kids sometimes get stuck inside of them. I've heard of that happening a lot in the US...
Hi! I'm Kathy, and I'm a student at Gettysburg College.
In America, there are some UFO catchers (I think we call them "crane games" or "claw games" more often, though) in supermarkets and other places, but there aren't many of them in arcades (or not in the ones I've been to). They seem like fun! Are they hard to win?
I think you have a very cool job. Is working at the arcade fun? I have only been to an arcade once, so I do not really know what they are like.
There are games like the UFO Catcher in grocery stores in America. I have only tried to play once, but I lost.... :( Is the UFO Game hard to play as well?
Hi!
I love arcades. =] In the state where I live, we are famous for our boardwalks. Boardwalks are long paths of pier that go down the beach (not into the water) and are lined with stores, usually souvenirs and food. Usually, there are a lot of arcades on the boardwalk, as well. Every summer, I go to the boardwalk and try to win stuffed animals from crane games. Usually, they are rigged so you can't win, though, which is sad.
Hi, I'm Chris!
Working in the arcade sounds fun. What sort of jobs do you do in the arcade? We have arcades in America, but I think, generally speaking, they are probably smaller than the ones in Japan.
Do you like your job?
>>Whitney
I thought there are not crane machine in America.
In Japan, the average age going to amusement park is higher than America.
>>Mike
I have never heard that’s happening.
In, Japan, there are staff around the machine.
So…I’m guessing yes.
>>Kathy
Ah…it is hard to win.
Incidentally, Japanese “UFO Catcher (=Crane game) Corner” is called “Prize” by staff.
If you win, you are Lucky!!
>>Krista
It is fun. You need taking getting used to and lucky to win.
>>Liz
Probably, Japanese arcade is different from American.
So, I want to have been to American Arcade
